What If You Were Never Lazy?

New Year's Resolutions are a spike of motivation to help you overcome your "lazy" tendencies; your desire to choose comfort and convenience over hauling yourself to a gym/ a meeting / a date or something else you don't really want to attend.

But what if you didn't have to overcome anything because you were never lazy?

What if comfort and convenience were just enjoyable elements of rest?

I'm going to guess that you know how it feels to want to go somewhere. To feel clear on why you want to be there and in those moments there's no question of anything getting in the way, you'll make it happen.

You've had this clarity many times, for a loved one's birthday, an important meeting, a house viewing - when you know it matters to you, you've made it happen and probably with ease.

But sometimes you don't want to make it happen, you procrastinate, tell yourself you can't do the thing, it doesn't matter, something else is more important or the classic - you're just lazy. If any of these feel familiar please know that they are not true - they are simply a signal that you aren't clear.

Clarity is where the real power lies. When we’re clear on why we’re doing something, the steps to get there feel obvious and often joyful.

Take a weight loss goal, for example. When the reason is clear and personal—like preparing for a wedding—the motivation feels natural. Choices about eating and exercising can become part of the excitement.

But when the motivation is a vague “I should” (often delivered by a harsh inner critic), it’s a different story. The effort feels heavy, driven by willpower that quickly runs out. There’s little joy in the process, and consistency is hard to find.

The difference? Staying connected to a meaningful why. I'm sharing this today as we approach New Year and all the messages telling you what you "should" be focusing on.

Instead I invite you to get clear on why you are focusing - what is it that matters to you. There's still time to do this through my free workshop Clear Your Path. It will leave you feeling lighter, clearer and more confident than ever before. From here easing in to the new year feels very different.

As I've taken myself through the process I've become even clearer on what I am a yes to and what I need more boundaries around. It's already having an impact in my parenting and how I approach my business. The clarity brings focus and confidence. What could change for you in an instant when you get clear?
